Building connection, confidence, and community for first-generation behavioral health graduate students.

Being the first in your family to pursue a graduate degree can be exciting—and sometimes difficult to navigate. BeHERE NV works with UNLV programs and community partners to help first-generation behavioral health graduate students access guidance, build supportive relationships, and feel more connected throughout graduate school.

What Does “First-Generation” Mean?

First-generation graduate students are generally students whose parents or guardians have not completed a graduate or professional degree.

Because every family and educational journey is different, students are encouraged to participate if they feel they would benefit from additional guidance and community while navigating graduate school.

Student and Professional Panels

Current students, alumni, faculty, and behavioral health professionals share candid experiences and practical advice about succeeding in graduate school and entering the behavioral health workforce.
