BeHERE NV develops reports that provide information, findings, and updates related to Nevada’s behavioral health workforce and the initiatives supporting it. Explore our reports below.

Our publication, “Recounting Workforce: The Impact of Multi-licensure on Behavioral Health Provider Estimates,” examines how providers holding multiple licenses can affect workforce estimates.

Among four types of Nevada behavioral health credentials, we found:
▪️ 3,259 unique providers held 3,660 licenses.
▪️ 11.7% of providers held two or more licenses.
▪️ Counting licenses as separate providers would overestimate the workforce studied by 12.3%.

These findings highlight the importance of distinguishing licenses from individual providers. More accurate counts can help inform workforce planning, shortage assessments, and investments in behavioral health services.

Published in The Journal of Behavioral Health Services & Research, this study offers an approach other states can use to improve their workforce estimates.

What support does Nevada’s behavioral health workforce need? BeHERE NV surveyed professionals across all 17 counties to learn about the challenges they face and the resources that would help them succeed. The survey helps us learn about provider experiences, training preferences, and opportunities to support the business technical assistance needs of providers across Nevada. The survey is conducted every two years and will serve as an ongoing source of information concerning provider needs.
